Privacy Policy

1. Signal Files Stay Local

Core principle: BioSignal Workstation performs ECG, EEG, EMG, EOG, filtering, statistics, FFT/PSD, spectrogram, ROI, and report-generation workflows inside your browser. Uploaded signal files are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to BioSignal Workstation servers.

Some app features may contact third-party services, such as optional analytics or the feedback form, but those features are separate from signal-file processing.

2. Signal Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

  • The contents of any CSV or signal files you upload.
  • Your filtered results, ROI selections, or analysis reports.
  • Any personal identifiers linked to your signal data.
  • File names or raw signal samples through the session restore feature.

3. Local Storage and Session Restore

The application uses your browser's localStorage for local preferences and session restore. This data stays on your device unless you clear it from your browser.

  • Session restore: file format, display units, selected channel metadata, filter settings, and tool settings.
  • Cookie preference: whether you accepted or declined optional analytics.
  • Interface preference: whether the onboarding panel was dismissed.

Session restore does not store uploaded file contents, raw signal samples, or file names. You can clear this local data using your browser settings or the app's discard-session controls where available.

4. Optional Analytics

BioSignal Workstation can use Google Analytics to understand general app traffic and improve the user experience. Analytics are optional and are loaded only after you select Accept Analytics in the consent banner.

Analytics may collect usage information such as page views, approximate device/browser details, and interaction events. We do not send signal files, signal values, patient data, filtered outputs, ROI selections, or report contents to Google Analytics.

You can decline optional analytics in the consent banner or change your choice later using Cookie Settings in the app footer.

5. Feedback Form

If you submit feedback through the app, the rating and message you enter are sent to StaticForms so the message can be delivered to us. Please do not include patient data, protected health information, passwords, private research data, or other sensitive information in feedback messages.

6. Third-Party Services and External Assets

The application may load or connect to third-party services, including Google Analytics/Google Tag Manager after analytics consent, StaticForms for feedback submission, Google Fonts, Tailwind CDN, and other content delivery networks used for front-end assets. These providers may receive standard browser request information, such as IP address, user-agent, referrer, and request time, according to their own policies.

7. No Clinical Data Service

BioSignal Workstation is intended for research, education, and engineering use. It is not a medical device, clinical record system, or HIPAA-covered service. If you work with regulated or identifiable health data, you are responsible for using the tool in accordance with your institution's policies and applicable laws.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the application changes or when privacy practices need clarification. The updated date above shows when this page was last revised.
